Now there's another reason to keep your finances in order.
Money Management International (MMI) has compiled results from several studies suggesting that better financial health could lead to better mental and physical health. An American Psychological Association survey found that money problems were a leading cause of stress. Other polls found that people with high "debt-stress" were more likely to suffer from ulcers, migraines, and other physical challenges.
The studies don't necessarily prove causation, but it's not much of a stretch to say that money problems and stress can impact your health.
MMI suggests that financial education is a key to better health -- both financial and otherwise. MMI happens to offer financial education, but they point out that you can get education from a variety of sources at no charge (MMI also offers services at no charge). Whatever you do, get educated about your finances and stay on top of things so they don't lead to bigger and bigger problems.
